Story behind the album

Phillip Resuggan is a board-certified Music Therapist (CBMT) with nearly three decades of experience helping individuals navigate challenges including mood disorders, addiction, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury. Throughout his career, Phillip has used music and the creative arts as powerful tools for exploration, expression, and healing.

In 2021, the concept of Right Size Phil began to take shape as Phillip turned inward to address his own pain and begin a deeper healing journey. It became clear that music needed to be the vehicle to bring Right Size Phil out of the shadows and into the light—to be seen and heard. This project represents both that journey and the transformative power of being witnessed by others without apology or compromise.

Reflecting on the process, Phillip shares: “I have never felt as vulnerable as I have while working on this project.”  He credits God, the steady support of his wife, and Neal Bowen (bass) and Jason Cooper (drums), whose patience and encouragement were instrumental throughout the past three years. “My hope is that by sharing this project, others might feel encouraged to confront their own pain and explore healing through the arts.”
